How You Can Volunteer

• Volunteering as an individual or group on the work site:  Our workdays are typically Tuesdays and Saturdays.  There is work for everyone despite your skill level - if you are interested in volunteering on a worksite, please call 856-299-7995.  You may also contact schabitat@mail.com and an information packet will be sent to you including worksite hours and sign up paperwork.
• Volunteering at our Home and Builders Outlet:  Our Outlet hours are Fridays 1pm - 6pm and Saturdays 8am - 5pm. Help is needed during these hours and during the week for picking up items and store maintenance.  To assist with the Outlet please contact Paul Codella at 856-299-0031.
• Becoming a volunteer for one of our committees:  A great way to become involved with this local mission is to join one of our committees and become part of the Habitat family! We have the following committees:

Building:  This committee selects the appropriate model for each location, plans the building projects and develops new ways to improve our product and control our costs.  The committee meets the first Monday of each month at 6:30pm.  

Site Development:  This committee brings in the property to our affiliate and resolves any issues pertaining to local ordinances and planning board concerns.  They give a ready title over to the Building Committee.

Family Services:  Works on applications that we receive, runs credit reports, makes home visits and recommends the best prospective family partner to the Board for approva for each home we build. Once a family is selected, a mentor is assigned to the future homeowner. Together they resove and assist the home owner with Sweat Equity issues and other homeownership matters that may come up.  This committee meets the third Thursday of each month at 6:30pm.

Church and Public Relations:  This Committee works to promote the goals of our affiliate through a quarterly newsletters, timely mailings and by attending public events throughout Salem County.  This Committee meets the second Thursday of each month at 6:30pm.

Fund Raising:  We have several steering committees that work on events to raise money to support our affiliate budget. 

We all have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man’s gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully.
