How You Can Volunteer

  • Volunteer as an individual or group on work site.  Our work site hours are Tuesdays and Saturdays.  There work for everyone despite your skill level - if you are interested in volunteers as a work site volunteer please contact 856-299-7995.  You may also contact schabitat@mail.com - an information packet will be sent to you that includes work site hours and sign up paperwork.
  • Volunteer at our ReStore - Our ReStore hours are Fridays 3pm - 5pm and Saturdays 8am - 1pm - help is needed during those hours and during the week for pick up items and store maintenance.  To assist with the ReStore please contact Dan Lapp at 856-299-0031.
  • Become a volunteer for one of our committee.  A great way to become involved with this local mission is to join one of our committees and become part of the Habitat family! We have the following committees:

Building and Site Development:  Both these committees work on the planningstages of aquiring the land and the building schedule.  The committee meets the first Monday of each month at 6:30pm.

Family Selection and Support: Works on applications that are sent in, runs credit reports, makes home visits and recommends the best prospective family partner to the board for approval. Once a family is selected, a family sponsor assists with home owner issues and other homeownership matters that may come up.  This committee meets the third Thursday of each month at 6:30pm.

Church and Public Relations:  Committee constantly works on promoting the goals of our affiliates through a quarterly newsletters, mailings and attending of public events throughout the Salem County.  Committee meets the second Thursday of each month at 6:30pm.

Fund Raising:  We have several steering committees that works on events to raise money for our affiliate budget.

We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man’s gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully.     Romans 12:6-8

If you are interested in serving on any of these committees please contact the Habitat office at 856-299-7995, email at schabitat@mail.com or use the contact form.
